Chapter Objectives

  1. To provide a forum to express the needs and viewpoints of risk managers and to promote the free exchange of ideas.
  2. To further the risk and insurance management process by seeking cooperation and promoting understanding with other professional societies.
  3. To foster education programs for risk management.
  4. To foster philanthropic activities related to risk management.
  5. To support the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. in the accomplishment of its national goals and objectives as adopted by the National Board of Directors.
  6. To do what is necessary and proper for the accomplishment of any objectives herein set forth or which shall be recognized as proper and lawful objectives of the Golden Gate Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.

RIMS (www.rims.org) is a not-for-profit organization comprised of 7,700 individuals from nearly 4,500 corporations, institutions and governmental agencies in 94 Chapters throughout the United States and Canada. As the largest organization of its kind in the world, RIMS is dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practice of risk management including the awareness, understanding and application of risk management, developing the competency and influence of risk managers. Risk Management is a discipline vital to the protection and utilization of human and financial resources. It's worldwide Annual Conference has nearly 10,000 attendees over a one week period with 140 educational sessions and a 650-booth exhibit area.
